love the weather, people even greater.

by Poppy from Massachusetts

As I said, Jamaican weather is just great, the people even greater. My experience with all Jamaicans which I had the opportunity to meet, were very special people, whether they worked with the hotel or were walking the beach selling their wares, you need to just show them the respect that they deserve, thank them for letting you enjoy their country and you will will surely meet some wonderful people. I guess you could just call it, showing a little respect. Everyone should try it, respect goes along way.

Jamaica Harassment

by Gordon from Fort Pierce, FL

Another thing about the Jamaicans is the harassment by their custom agents while trying to get back on the ship. On a Royal Caribbean Cruise that had a stop in Montego Bay the agents would take 16 t 18 year old boys, separate them from their families and do strip searches. When asked what their criteria was the response all 18 year "white boys" were drug suspects. I strongly suspect that some of the kids had some marijuana planted on them when taken away and searched just to justify the actions. I would avoid Montego Bay like the plague until this is resolved.

Jamaican Culture

by Jamaican

To sum up a entire culture and say we are "anti" this or that was not enough, you then went on to basically tell all travelers beware for "JA men" are prone to rape at will. But HEY, why let that spoil your fun in the sun and attaining that Oh so perfect tan, right?

Thank you for saying all this and proving that "we" are even "ignorant" enough to employ and keep one such as you on the payroll. If not for the Tsunami would you have known that that area of the world was a tourist spot for "pedophiles"? Will you now warn travelers to leave their children at home, or avoid that area altogether? Thereby causing their economic way of life, trade, import/export, "TOURIST EXCHANGE", to go belly-up. What I'm basically saying is simple... "on your way out the door, you need not wipe your feet on my country". Just step...
