Nervous, why are you even going to Jamaica? You have already made up your mind to have a bad time (so I am sure you will). In Jamiaca what you give is what you will get in return. Your negative attitude attracts more negativity. Jamiaca is the nicest warmest place in the world. I find that the tourists who do not enjoy JA are blinded by their own preconceived (wrongly) perceptions that they refuse to let go of...By the way, Jamiaca has one of the lowest crime rates on tourists of anywhere in the world. Don't believe all the violence hype.

Jamaica is safe

Jamaica is the safest island to go to the people are loving and they will look out for you, Just like Miami or any other great city there is crime every where. The difference is the people depend on the tourist to survive so if they treat the tourist bad they will not have a way to live.

Nervous

I am going to Jamaica for my honeymoon and I am very nervous. I have heard nothing but stories like the locals will rob you and not to walk in the streets alone. How can I have a good time when I constantly have to worry whether I am going to make it home. I'm sorry but I feel safe walking the streets in Florida, so I think that something needs to be done with the crime rate or the island is going to start seeing their tourist rate drop drastically! That's all you need is for one American to get hurt over there and that's the end of people traveling there! I'll try to make the best of it when I go, but I will be extremely nervous from the moment the plane lands.

das from England, i think u r so wrong about Jamaica even though that is ur opinion and u r entiled to it. but here is my opinion: i am from Jamaica but i now live in the UK and i believe if i had a choice i would not come to live here. it is a nice place but i prefer Jamaica by far, cause the food is better, the weather is better and the people well hmmmm they r not so nice especially if they know u have more money than they have, they can be funny when they want to be though, but believe me they r not very better here, trust me. But one last word for you there: no place on earth like JAMAICA and i don't care what people say am proud to be Jamaican.

I have visited Jamaica several times now since my partner is Jamaican. Hence, I probably have a different perspective then a lot of visitors. The food, awesome, the people, they love me and couldn't be more accomodating. The views are well it is like paradise. The color of the water cannot be described. My favorite is waking up in the morning to the sun warming my body from the near by window and the sea breeze smells awesome mixed with the local flowers. The smoke from many grills fill the mountainside with the aroma of "Jerk" the traditional seasoning of Jamaica. No one is tense over here. Life is for living and talking toe each other.

Needless to say I love it and am quite at home here. Port Antonio is home base and I have visited Ochi, NoBay, Negril and everything in between.

Come visit Jamaica.

Jamaiaca not the place for me

I visited Jamaica for the first time this May with several members of my family. And I can honestly say that it was the worst holiday I have ever had. I have travelled to over 20 countries, so have many places to compare it to.

Jamaica is not a place for a relaxing holiday, it's somewhere that you go to visit family. We stayed in a leafy suburb called ironshore in Montego Bay. The locals are not friendly. I found them to be coarse, aggressive and envious of anyone with money. I had a total of three people smile at me during a 18 day period. You smile at them and you get no response or they badger you for anything you have. I know it is a poor country but this kind of behaviour is not good for tourism. I felt like i was trapped in the villa we stayed in. You can't walk around freely during the day or night unless it's in a guarded tourist area. Your always on your guard, this does not make for a relaxing time.

The beaches- mmmm great but you have to pay to go onto them. Them pay again for a sunlounger and again for an umbrella to go with the lounger. Oh there are a few free beaches but be advised that you will be harassed and very probably robbed.

Need I go on.

Just don't go! Im £2,000 poorer and very miserable. I feel like i need a holiday! Spain I think. Incidentally just in case you were wondering my parent are Jamaican. No wonder they came to England. Wise choice.

The Most Beautiful Place on Earth

In my opinion, Jamaica is 'the most beautiful place' on the this planet. Even the rising crime rate has not deter my opinion. I am currently not living there, but my utmost dream is to return someday and remain there until I die. The few bad apples (criminals) have not spoil the perception I have of my country because some of the, if not, the most caring, loving and kind individuals are found there.

Living in Jamaica and Didn't know

Living Jamaica for all my life and I didn't know that it was so beautiful; until i decided to visit all the island as my vacation, instead of leaving the island. Jamaica is the get away place to be, very nice people and it isn't because I'm one. The food is so tasty. Come to Jamaica and enjoy our beautiful island.

Well my opinion is that Jamaica is a great place, it have so many different wonderful site seeing when u visited the island, so much place to go and things to see and so many nice dishes to choose from, my favourite is fry fish and festival and this is something that you enjoy eating at the beach.
