Loved Grand Sport!

It was wonderful! We stayed in the Main House as they called it. The food was great at all the restaurants even at the the Sandles Ocho, Rios across the street that the shuttles would take you to promptly. The staff was great and friendly. They were generous on the drinks too! I would recommend it to all and I'm going back in 6 months. Irie Mon! Machicia & Julius Guidry

Just spent 5 days at Grande Sport in Ocho Rios. We had an amazing time. The resort is gorgeous, set on some hills overlooking the ocean. The food at Orchids and the Italian place was super. The service and food we experienced at the Manor Restaurant was terrible. The breakfast buffet is a winner. Don't eat breakfast at Orchid's as it takes about 1 1/2 hours to get your food and eat. Get involved in all the activities..beach party, welcome party, basket weaving at the beach, pottery classes at the beach and beach olympics. It is a super way to meet other people staying at Beaches Grande Sport as well as staff. We took the Catamaran cruise and LOVED it! They take you snorkeling, to Dunn's River Falls (you shouldn't miss) and on a cruise. The trip is all you can drink red stripe & rum punch and they play loud awesome tunes. It is a party boat for sure! Also, be sure to check out Sandal's across the street. It is a nice resort with great restaurants/bars and it is nice to get away to new scenery. The trampoline in the ocean, glass bottom boat cruise and sea kayaks are all fun as well. We found our experience at Beaches Grande Sport to be AWESOME!

Our advice to anyone considering a vacation at Beaches Grand Sport Villa, Ocho Rios - don't do it! Our experience started ou bad. We visited the resort Aug 1 - 7, 2003. We had reservations for two rooms in the main building (Great House) - one w/ king for my wife and I & one w/ twin beds for our children, daughter 22 & son 18. Upon arrival we found they had "upgraded" our rooms to one of the "villas" up on the mountain side of the 50 acre resort. Both of those rooms had king beds & our children did not want to sleep together - it took 2 days and much arguing to get moved to rooms with proper beds. From the brochure we thought we were going to stay in a resort on the beach with rooms overlooking the ocean. From our "villa" we had to either call for a cart to come to our room and get us or walk down to the Great House, then catch the beach shuttle bus down the mountain and across the street to get to the beach. Some of the staff members were pleasant but many were rude and unfriendly, especailly the front desk. The lights in our room went out due to a tripped breaker and it took 5 hours and 3 phone calls to get them back on. The staff just didn't seem to care. The food was good at breakfast and okay at most other meals. We visited with numerous guests who we as dissatisified as we were. If you want to visity Jamaica to "get away from it all", including the beach and groups of people - then you will enjoy Grand Sport Villa. We went to Jamaica to be on the beach and be entertained with parties and scheduled activities and were greatly disappointed.
