Jamaica Inn hotel description>>

Absolute paradise
Reviewer: Jamaica visitor, Atlanta, Georgia

Jamaica Inn is the type of small, elegant hotel that's so hard to find these days. It's pure class all the way. The rooms, with sumptuous living porches, are delightedly old-fashioned. The cuisine is superb, with the menu changing daily and dinner served under the stars nightly. The beach is one of the prettiest you'll find anywhere, and is completely private and reserved for the guests at the inn. Service was perfect; your name and room number are remembered at all times. The inn is remarkably quiet and peaceful; attracts a good mix of cosmopolitan couples from the U.S., England and Europe who desire beautiful surroundings, fine cuisine, and absolute privacy. It just doesn't get any better than this in the Caribbean.

WOW

All I can say is wow. This is a classic, small, beautiful resort of some 45 rooms. Very colonial in style with incredible service. Much of the staff have been there for 25 years or more (the place is only 50 years old). Trash of any type- cig. buts, bottle caps, is nonexistent. Property is perfectly maintained. One of the best beaches in Ochos Rios by far. Night life- non, just the way we like it. Although we had beach suites, every room is a winner. Nice touch with the open air verhanda (sp?) with couches and chairs (perfectly maintained, which is amazing since they are outdoors and the place is so humid) for each room, all of which look over the beach and/or ocean. To put things into perspective, the day we left the place was having a state dinner- with the president of Jamaica and two prime ministers. Need I say more?Without a doubt we will return to this wonderful resort.

Loved this place

I have been to several hotels in Mexico and the Caribbean and this was the best!!! There are only 45 suites, no tv's, best views from the rooms and some of the best food I have ever eaten. It is the most relaxed I have been on a vacation. The staff is wonderful. They wait on you hand and foot. If you are looking for more night life, then this is not the place to go. They always have someone performing music during dinner which you can get up and shake a leg. You will not want to come home!
