 Longest returning visitor

My family has been enjoying the growth of Rondel since me and my wife stumble upon the place during a walk along the beach one year. We previously had visited Jamaica via the cruise ship trend and after visiting 14 islands decided to make Jamaica THE PLACE. We visited various parts of the Island, staying in villas, timeshares and hotels and decided VILLAS were ideal for our needs. We settled on Negril because we like to swim (without hazards). We stopped looking further because we found paradise - RONDEL.! In 1986 Rondel was just three villas with a simple staff wishing to become the best. I laugh when I remember the satellite T V system where everyone watched the same channel, and no telephones in the rooms. I watched the yearly upgrades and improvements, the quality of staff training, the changes to what it has become today and can say with qualification, it has gotten better with each visit.This June we will return for our 11th stay (we average three weeks each visit) and look forward to it. I have NEVER found anything wrong during my stays that wouldnt be corrected immediately if needed by simply telling the front desk what the problem was. Personally, I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS but then again, if youre in paradise, why would you?

This was the vacation from ****. Although the garden and pool were nice, the room was not up to our expectations. We didn't have hot water, towels had to be used for 3 days, and there were bugs in the room. The restaurant was suppose to open at 7:30 am and no one arrived until after 8:30 every morning. It took a while to get your food. The food was ok, but not a lot of choices because when you would order lobster, they didn't have it or shrimp, etc. When we would sit at the bar on the beach, the "beachbums" would come up to the bar and ask you to buy "stuff". The security guard didn't stop them. Matter of fact, he was partying and would turn his head. Very annoying and we won't be returning. This was our first trip and what a disaster.

My husband and I spent two weeks - April/ May, 2003 at one of the beachfront villas. It was our third visit to Negril, the first two being spent at two other hotels. We toured Rondel on our last visit and just had to try it.The villa, the beach, the staff, the restaurant & beach bar - and the private jacuzzi, simply cannot be beat.We will be returning to our "new home" year after year. When you have found the best...there is no need to keep searching.
