Ahhhhh.... Quality Relaxing!

My wife and I just returned from Rose Hall on Sunday. It was a VERY relaxing and enjoyable vacation. We booked the trip only after reading other's experiences at this resort and we found most everything to be as people described. Yes, the beach is a bit rocky but not enough to detract from your experience. Wind and rough surf prevented us from getting out to use any of the non-motorized water sports for a few days but we didn't mind... relaxing on the comfortable beach chairs or just swimming in the lagoon area was just as appealing to us.

The pool was very well attended and could have been a bit bigger but there were plenty of chairs and towels for everyone.The staff was excellent. They always greeted us with a warm 'Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening' whenever we walked by. They were very attentive and accommodating. The Jamaicans are strong but friendly people that are always willing to share a bit of knowledge about their culture (if asked).

Food and beverages were superb. The 'Key to Paradise' package provides a lot more value here! Jasmines and Horizons were our favorites… Go to the White Witch club house for lunch or at sunset for dinner. It's a beautiful view. Be sure to read the list of all-inclusive alcohol before ordering your favorite drink… and DO check your bill daily to make sure there are no erroneous items.

The grounds were immaculately kept with all types of gorgeous tropical plants and flowers. The colors were amazing! You can tell a lot of time and effort goes into maintaining the property. Rooms are spacious and in good shape. Bathrooms are wonderful with the marble tops, separate tub-shower and double sinks. Garden view rooms are just as nice (stay in the East Wing) as the pricier ocean view rooms. The hallways are not very well soundproofed so you hear everything/everyone that walks by your room. I think this is partially due to rude people just not being mindful of their fellow guests but the facilities could be softened up too. We complained one night b/c of some teenage kids continually yelling back and forth down the hallway at 2AM. The front desk was very apologetic and said that it would not happen again for the rest of our stay… and it didn't!

Something I did not see a lot of people comment on was the White Witch golf course (owned and operated by the resort). This track is incredible! Absolutely the best experience playing golf I have ever had. The design is paramount, caddies (concierges) were extremely knowledgeable and conditions were (overall) top notch. Only problem was that they were aerating some of the greens when I was there but they cannot be faulted for that… just rotten timing for me. You will not be disappointed playing this course. I want to go back to Jamaica just for the opportunity to play it again!Overall, if you want a relaxing vacation, stay at a top notch resort with the opportunity to play one of the best golf courses in the Caribbean, book your trip to the Ritz Carlton at Rose Hall.

Nice, but lacking

Beautiful resort, very friendly staff, nice rooms, nightly entertainment, good food. Only one pool (crowded at times), small beach (private beach nearby), restaurant service slow, even lost our order twice! Minor things like the pool table pockets with holes, dumping the balls on the floor and toiletry items not replentished as needed. We would definitely return!
