Little Pub Inn

If you don't mind a little noise, this place offers simple accommodations at sensible prices in one- and two-story buildings with arched windows and terraces covered with plants. Though it isn't the perfect place for peace and quiet, the hotel is in the heart of Ocho Rios, offering easy access to Turtle Beach, shopping, restaurants, and entertainment.

The hotel is right in the Little Pub Complex, with 20 shops, a small nightclub, slot machines, and a restaurant. Air-conditioned rooms have a tropical decor; some contain small lofts that can be reached with ladders for extra bed space. Each unit comes with a small bathroom with shower, and the restaurant serves international cuisine and a few local specialties. Hotel guests also receive a VIP card good for a 15% discount at the restaurant and nightclub.

Parkway Inn

Hotel's setting in the commercial heart of Ocho Rios appeals to any budget traveler who wants easy access to the town's inexpensive restaurants, shops, and bars. Built in the early 1990s, the hotel sports a third-floor bar where patrons enjoy a grand view over the lights of Ocho Rios. Bedrooms are basic, a bit worn but tidily kept, each with a small bathroom containing a shower and tub. Although there aren't any resort-style facilities here, guests can use the pool, tennis courts, and watersports facilities at the Jamaica Grand Hotel next door. The closest beach is a 10-minute walk away. There's a Chinese/Jamaican restaurant on the premises serving simple meals. This hotel often attracts business travelers hailing from other regions of Jamaica.

Pineapple Hotel

Next door to the Pineapple Place Shopping Centre, this hotel offers very basic accommodations at bargain prices. Expect no frills; stay only if you can't afford the high prices of Ocho Rios and plan to spend little time in your room. The tropically decorated quarters include private bathrooms with showers, tile floors, and air-conditioning, but if you want to make a phone call, you must do it from the front desk. TVs are available in some rooms. There's a restaurant serving Italian, American, and Jamaican food; watersports can be arranged at the front desk; and there's a swimming pool on the premises. For a seaside romp, try Turtle Beach, a short walk away.

Tamarind Tree Hotel

At this small family-style hotel, a series of stucco, red-roofed buildings with awnings and pastel-trimmed balconies house the cream-colored and carpeted bedrooms. There's a pool terrace, and the nearest beach (Cardiff Hall) is within a 5-minute walk. Although occupants of the cottages usually cook their own meals, there's a simple restaurant (The Bird Wing) serving three meals a day and a disco (The Stinger) whose drinks and recorded music create some fun at this otherwise quiet, out-of-the-way hotel. The more appealing bedrooms are on the second floor, partly because they catch more cooling breezes. All the bedrooms come with small bathrooms with tub and shower.
